ABOUT La Paz

La Paz is the capital city and seat of the government of Bolivia. It is located at 3640 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains and 68 km away from Lake Titicaca; Due to its altitude, La Paz is one of the highest metropolis in the world. The Plaza Murillo, a place where the political power of Bolivia has been concentrated since 1899, when the headquarters of the national government was transferred there. The Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Government Palace are also located in this square and attract attention for their neoclassical architecture from the beginning of the 19th century.
